PresÂiÂdent DonÂald Trump said MonÂday he would be placÂing a 25% tarÂiff on all imÂports from any counÂtry that buys oil or gas from Venezuela as well as imÂposÂing new tarÂiffs on the South AmerÂiÂcan counÂtry itÂself.
In a Truth SoÂcial post, Trump said Venezuela has been âvery hosÂtileâ to the U.S. and counÂtries purÂchasÂing oil from it will be forced to pay the tarÂiff on all their trade to the U.S. startÂing April 2.
Venezuela will face a âSecÂondaryâ tarÂiff beÂcause it is the home to the gang Tren de Aragua, he said. The Trump adÂminÂisÂtraÂtion is deÂportÂing imÂmiÂgrants that it claims are memÂbers of that gang who ilÂleÂgalÂly crossed inÂto the UnitÂed States.
