The Ministry of Health has issued an alert following reports of contaminated cough syrups linked to multiple child fatalities abroad.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry said it was acting on an international alert from the World Health Organisation (WHO) regarding the presence of Diethylene Glycol (DEG), a toxic substance , in at least three oral liquid medicines manufactured in India.
