For the first time, the National Schools Panorama finals is being held in San Fernando with primary and secondary schools vying for the title.
Education Minister Dr Michael Dowlath described the event as historic, saying the move to Skinner Park in 2026 was significant as talent was not confined to any particular region.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dowalth said, “This year’s National Schools Panorama is historic. For the first time it is being hosted in south Trinidad and this matters because talent is not confined to any one region. So today, the south is not on the margins of national culture. Today Skinner Park and San Fernando is at the centre of national culture.”
