Retired senior history lecturer at The University of the West Indies and co-director of the Caribbean Freedom Project Dr Claudius Fergus has called for the immediate removal of the Christopher Columbus statue from Independence Square in Port of Spain.
He warns that any delay could allow “forces of imperialism” to regroup and frustrate the process.
