As the post-election turmoil in the PNM continues, general secretary Foster Cummings issued a statement yesterday in which he appeared to criticise former PNM political leader Dr Keith Rowley, whom he alleged adopted an election strategy that took the party from government to opposition.
Cummings is under pressure from elements within the party to resign his position as general secretary.
Some of these persons, who call themselves “PNM changemakers”, submitted a statement on Thursday in which they accused Cummings of abusing his office and breaching the party rules in the recent election of a chairman by the General Council which took place on Tuesday.
