Res­i­dents across sev­er­al ar­eas in north-east Trinidad are ex­pe­ri­enc­ing wa­ter sup­ply dis­rup­tions fol­low­ing heavy overnight rain­fall that af­fect­ed op­er­a­tions at sev­er­al sur­face wa­ter treat­ment fa­cil­i­ties.

Ac­cord­ing to a sta­tus up­date is­sued by the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) at 11:00 a.m. to­day, flood­ing and riv­er over­flow have caused high tur­bid­i­ty and clogged screens at mul­ti­ple fa­cil­i­ties. This has hin­dered wa­ter treat­ment op­er­a­tions in com­mu­ni­ties from To­co to St. Joseph.
