Opposition Leader and People's National Party President Mark Golding today announced the appointment of Lothan Cousins, Member of Parliament for Clarendon South Western, as Opposition Spokesperson on Land and Works, following the decision of Richard Azan, Member of Parliament for Clarendon North Western, to step down from the Works portfolio to concentrate on other political duties for the party.
The PNP, in a statement on Friday, said the newly consolidated portfolio brings land administration and public works under one spokesperson, reflecting its commitment to an integrated approach to infrastructure development, land titling and management, and the rebuilding of communities still recovering from Hurricane Melissa.
“The appointment ensures Jamaicans benefit from coordinated advocacy on roads, drainage, housing, land, and the responsible use of the nation's physical assets,” the party said.
