A Pe­nal man who has been charged with 17 of­fences in­clud­ing rob­bery with vi­o­lence, false im­pris­on­ment and kid­nap­ping, fol­low­ing a rob­bery in Bar­rack­pore in Ju­ly, is sched­uled to ap­pear be­fore a High Court Mas­ter in San Fer­nan­do to­day.

The 25-year-old man from Pe­nal was ar­rest­ed on Sun­day (Au­gust 31, 2025), fol­low­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to a re­port of a rob­bery that had oc­curred in Bar­rack­pore on Ju­ly 28, 2025.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the vic­tims—two broth­ers and their fam­i­lies—were at their sep­a­rate homes on the same com­pound in Bar­rack­pore when six as­sailants launched an at­tack. Five of the as­sailants were armed.
