(Kaieteur News) President Irfaan Ali has doubled down on his rejection of allegations of state-fuelled corruption regarding his farm, declaring that he has “nothing to hide” and that every asset associated with the estate has been fully declared to the Integrity Commission.
Addressing journalists at a press conference on Tuesday, the Head of State dismissed claims raised by Leader of the Opposition Azruddin Mohamed concerning the scale and valuation of his farm, located along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway at Long Creek, maintaining that a promised tour of the facility will take place at the “appropriate time.”
“The first loan was sometime in 2012,” President Ali stated in response to questions about the property’s acquisition and history. “I’ve said, and again, you repeated the allegation of 150 acres. And I said publicly that it’s not even half of that.”
