OpÂpoÂsiÂtion SenÂaÂtor Faris Al-Rawi is quesÂtionÂing whether the Home InÂvaÂsion bill would exÂtend proÂtecÂtion to squatÂters, askÂing if inÂdiÂvidÂuÂals who have no leÂgal claim to land they ocÂcuÂpy would still be enÂtiÂtled to deÂfend themÂselves against inÂtrudÂers.
As the deÂbate on the âStand Your Groundâ legÂisÂlaÂtion moved to the SenÂate yesÂterÂday, Al-Rawi quesÂtioned whether the proÂposed law would apÂply equalÂly to all citÂiÂzens, inÂcludÂing squatÂters.
