The To­ba­go Ho­tel and Tourism As­so­ci­a­tion (TH­TA) has wel­comed Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar’s “strong de­vel­op­ment agen­da” for To­ba­go, pre­sent­ed dur­ing her first of­fi­cial vis­it to the is­land. How­ev­er, the as­so­ci­a­tion al­so ex­pressed con­cern over the omis­sion of any men­tion of the For­eign In­vest­ment (To­ba­go Land Ac­qui­si­tion) Or­der 2007—leg­is­la­tion that con­tin­ues to lim­it To­ba­go’s abil­i­ty to at­tract for­eign in­vest­ment and ex­pand its tourism sec­tor.
