26 students stung in bee attack at Port Mourant Secondary

Twenty-six students of the Port Mourant Secondary were injured on Monday after they were attacked by Africanised bees during the lunch period, with one student being hospitalised.

Reports are that several students were on the school field when one student apparently disturbed vegetation where a bee nest was located.

The bees began swarming the student, who ran towards other students while attempting to escape, resulting in several of them also being stung. The affected students were taken to the Port Mourant Hospital, where they received medical attention. One student was hospitalised. The incident resulted in parents rushing to the hospital after being informed that their children had been stung.
