Prime Minister Stuart Young has confirmed that the United States has revoked Trinidad and Tobago’s licence to develop the Dragon Gas Field with Venezuela.
Speaking at a press conference in Port of Spain on Tuesday afternoon, Young said the revocation of the OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) licence was not unexpected and that he has requested a bilateral meeting with Secretary Rubio.
According to Young Rubio had made it clear that US foreign policy is not aimed at harming Trinidad and Tobago, particularly in relation to its energy diplomacy and efforts to ensure regional energy security.
