Ousted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores have reportedly arrived in the US, landing at the Stewart International Airport in New York moments ago after being captured by US forces overnight in what US forces have named operation ‘Absolute resolve.’
The New York Times has reported that Maduro will be flown to Manhattan and then driven to the US Drug Enforcement Administration’s New York City headquarters in Manhattan. According to law enforcement officials, the Times said, he will then be taken to the Metropolitan Detention Centre where is expected to be held.
Footage of the de-planing from international media depicted two persons escorted from the aircraft by a group of US Law Enforcement officials, shackled.
