President Irfaan Ali’s state visit to Qatar has produced fresh interest in Guyana from major Gulf businesses, with retail giant LuLu Group preparing to send a technical team to Georgetown and Qatar Airways considering Guyana for passenger and cargo connectivity.
The developments came during Ali’s three-day State Visit to Qatar, where the President has been pursuing investment, trade and stronger international links as Guyana seeks to leverage its expanding oil-driven economy.
Ali met LuLu Group International Chairman and Managing Director M. A. Yusuff Ali, who indicated that the company intends to explore investment opportunities in Guyana.
