A 46-year-old Penal man who was wanted by Southern Division police officers was shot and killed by police officers when he reportedly pointed a gun at them at a house on Pinto Road, Arima, on Thursday night.
Police said officers from various units, including the Home Invasion Team (HIT), went to the house on Punnette Avenue around 10.50 pm and surrounded it.
The officers announced their presence, as a woman opened the door and, on seeing the police, ran back inside and up a staircase.
