Attorney General John Jeremie SC announced yesterday that he is officially ending civil litigation in the matter surrounding collapsed conglomerate CL Financial (CLF).
In a statement to Parliament, the Attorney General recalled that billions of dollars had been expended over the past decade, including a legal “feeding frenzy” even as a “joke” investigation took place.
He noted that not one person has been charged in what he described as the largest case of fraud and financial tragedy in Trinidad and Tobago, and possibly the Caribbean.
