The Police Complaints Authority (PCA) referred at least four matters to the Office of the Commissioner of Police for consideration of disciplinary proceedings following investigations into allegations of police misconduct.
PCA director David West told the Express yesterday that the majority of these referrals were for neglect of duty. He said after the recommendations made to the police, they follow up, and in some cases, officers are disciplined.
Yesterday, the PCA published its “Summary of Referrals: Disciplinary Offences” for April to June 2026, Part 1, on its social media platforms. The report listed the failure of officers to complete an investigation into an assault, neglect of duty in the investigation of an assault occasioning a wound, neglect of duty in the investigation of a sexual offence against a minor, and an unlawful search and entry into the wrong premises.
