Barbados cruised to a commanding 90-run victory over the Leeward Islands in the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 competition on Monday, with opener Eboni Brathwaite starring with a Player-of-the-Match performance. The third-round victory was Barbados’ second consecutive win after their opening-round match was abandoned. Batting first at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua, Barbados powered to 206 for two off their allotted 20 overs, as Brathwaite hammered an unbeaten 135 from 76 balls.
The remarkable innings featured 17 fours and seven sixes and came at a strike rate of 178.
Jadaeya Holder added five, Theanny Hebert-Mayers eight and Zaniyah Bruce 20 not out.
