Trinidad and Tobago is running unopposed for the Latin American and Caribbean Group’s single seat on the United Nations Security Council for the upcoming two-year term.
Countries must still secure a two-thirds majority vote from the General Assembly to be elected to the non-permanent seats on the United Nations Security Council.
Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Sean Sobers, indicated that Trinidad and Tobago is committed to securing the votes needed to win the seat.
