A police sergeant arrived with another man bearing news that Joshua Janet, charged alongside Azmon Alexander for the 2014 kidnapping of five people, the murder of three of them and who dragged two teenaged sisters through a forest for 19 days, would be sentenced the next day.
Janet had changed his plea to guilty, the court had accepted it and that was that. His case was closed.
