Despite transport challenges for former Reggae Boyz 1998 World Cup hero Durrant ‘Tatti’ Brown and a demanding overseas schedule for ex-Reggae Girlz standout Tashawna Vincent, both went above and beyond to attend the 41st staging of the Bell/Ziadie Memorial Football Awards at St George’s College on Heroes’ Day yesterday.
Brown, who lives in St James, was part of the formidable three-man Reggae Boyz defence during the 1998 World Cup qualifying campaign alongside Ian ‘Pepe’ Goodison and Linval Dixon.
Organiser Neville ‘Busy’ Campbell disclosed that Brown was almost a no-show because of transportation difficulties, but readily accepted the invitation to travel by bus from Montego Bay to Kingston.
