OREGON, USA — Shanoya Douglas says her quest for an individual gold medal at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships is not over, as she gets ready for her preferred 200m after taking the silver in the 100m on Thursday.

Douglas and Gary Card, who came into the championships as world leaders in the 100m, were beaten into second-place finishes by Americans Mia Maxwell and Tate Taylor, respectively. It was only the second time athletes from the same country had won both gold medals in the 100m at the same Under-20 Championships, after Noah Lyles and Candace Hill won in 2016 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

These were the first medals for Jamaica at the championships.
