The North Cen­tral Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty (NCRHA) has re­ject­ed claims cir­cu­lat­ing on­line that staff lock­ers were forcibly bro­ken in­to or that per­son­al items were dis­card­ed at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex (EWM­SC).

The Au­thor­i­ty stat­ed that the lock­ers shown in the video had been sched­uled for re­moval and re­place­ment as part of on­go­ing fa­cil­i­ty up­grades. Heads of De­part­ment were for­mal­ly in­formed in ad­vance and asked to ad­vise staff to re­move per­son­al be­long­ings be­fore the process be­gan.

The NCRHA em­pha­sized that no per­son­al be­long­ings were dis­card­ed. It added that the cir­cu­la­tion and fram­ing of the video were in­tend­ed to cre­ate alarm among staff and the pub­lic by mis­rep­re­sent­ing a rou­tine au­tho­rized process.
