The Management Committee of the Shipping Association of Jamaica recently met with Kirk Benjamin in what marked an important first engagement since his appointment as acting commissioner of Customs. More than a courtesy call, the discussion signalled a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between Customs and the maritime community at a time when efficiency, innovation and connectivity are increasingly critical to Jamaica’s economic competitiveness.
