One thousand rounds of ammunition were found and seized when police intercepted a van driven by a Laventille man on Wednesday.

Police said that between 1.15 p.m. and 4 p.m. officers of the Western Division Task Force led by DCP Suzette Martin, Snr Supt Williams, ASP Nyam Gyan and Insp Grant carried out an anti-crime exercise in east Port of Spain.

During the operation officers received information about a white Nissan Frontier being driven by a 40-year-old man.
