Tourists from Canada, UK among Pigeon Point victims

EIGHT people were injured when two pirogues collided near Pigeon Point Beach, Tobago, on Sunday evening.

Police said the incident occurred around 6 p.m. as two vessels were travelling in opposite directions along the designated channel.

According to police, Irwin Nicholls, 52, a fisherman of Tank Road, Signal Hill, was steering the black and blue pirogue Water Junkie east when he encountered a white and blue pirogue, Game Changer, being piloted in the opposite direction by 25-year-old Crown Point resident Renaldo Yeates.
