(Kaieteur News) – The National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) has awarded a $3.4 billion contract for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of surface water treatment facilities at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
According to information released on NPTAB website, the GY$3,476,624,420 contract was awarded to Jiangsu Gaiya Environmental Technology Co. Limited (out of China) who was among five contractors that submitted bids for the project earlier this year.
During the opening of bids, it was disclosed that the project was estimated to cost $6,142,500,000 and is being executed through the Guyana Water Inc. an agency under the Ministry of Public Utilities and Aviation.
