Baptiste makes early exit from Republic

Nigel Bap­tiste is re­tir­ing as group pres­i­dent and CEO of Re­pub­lic Fi­nan­cial Hold­ings Ltd (RFHL) and pres­i­dent and man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Re­pub­lic Bank Ltd (RBL), bring­ing to an end a ca­reer span­ning more than three decades with the fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tion, in­clud­ing ten years at its helm.

Bap­tiste’s fi­nal day will be No­vem­ber 13, with Karen Yip Chuck as­sum­ing both po­si­tions ef­fec­tive No­vem­ber 14, RFHL an­nounced yes­ter­day.

Yip Chuck’s ap­point­ment makes her the first woman to lead the Re­pub­lic Group, one of the Caribbean’s largest fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tions. She has spent 36 years with Re­pub­lic Bank and was a mem­ber of its ex­ec­u­tive lead­er­ship team.
