REPORTED motor vehicle theft fell by 16% in Trinidad and Tobago during the first nine months of this year, but police warned that larceny remained the main concern, with the Nissan Tiida continuing to be the vehicle most frequently targeted.
ASP Lloyd Lazarus and Insp Majid Khan of the Stolen Motor Vehicles Squad gave the figures during a news conference at the Police Administration Building yesterday.
Khan said 578 larceny of motor vehicle incidents were reported between January 1 and October 1 this year, compared with 690 during the corresponding period in 2025.
