Shas­tri Boodan

In a dis­play of uni­ty and de­vo­tion, more than 1,000 peo­ple dressed in red took to the streets of cen­tral Trinidad, march­ing along Freeport, Todds Road, yes­ter­day. The event, led by Pun­dit Kr­ishen Ramdeen head of the Isha Or­gan­i­sa­tion of T&T, was a call for har­mo­ny in the Hin­du com­mu­ni­ty.

The four-kilo­me­tre walk from the Trinidad Sevashram Sangh to the Isha Or­gan­i­sa­tion and Ashram at Rod­ney Road was deeply spir­i­tu­al. Devo­tees chant­ed in rev­er­ence to Lord Hanu­man, the Hin­du de­ity sym­bol­is­ing strength and de­vo­tion.
