(Kaieteur News) – Guyana is projected to receive approximately G$103.6 billion in remittances from its overseas population in 2026, slightly below the estimated G$104.2 billion recorded in 2025, according to a new regional report.
The projection comes against the backdrop of Guyana’s rapid economic expansion, fuelled by its growing oil and gas sector, with the country frequently described as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.
The figures are contained in the September 2026 report, Insights on Trends in Remittances to Latin America and the Caribbean, authored by Manuel Orozco of the Washington-based Inter-American Dialogue.
