Fi­nance Min­is­ter Dav­en­dranath Tan­coo has an­nounced a $1 re­duc­tion in the price of Su­per gaso­line, ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ate­ly.

De­liv­er­ing the 2026 Bud­get in Par­lia­ment to­day, Tan­coo said the move marks the first ma­jor mea­sure of what he de­scribed as a “car­ing gov­ern­ment” led by Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar.

“The pre­vi­ous PNM gov­ern­ment has been un­fair­ly over­charg­ing cit­i­zens for su­per gaso­line,” Tan­coo said, adding that the cut would di­rect­ly ben­e­fit all mo­torists.
