(Kaieteur News) – Pres. Ali has constructed a movie. He has a lot of help from former president, Jagdeo. Since both are into mythmaking, the movie they made presents an image to Guyanese. Perfection. PPP Govt. women made to look angelic. PPP men less demonic. Fantasy made to be reality. This is where Pres. Ali belongs, the top student in the university of farce (for which they award PhDs). It’s a heady feeling. One that has led him to lose touch with reality, to live in a world of fantasy. His own fantasies.
Pres. Ali is his own screenwriter, with a foot up that ladder from an old Burnham hand. The latter is in the race for being among the best in the region spinning yarns and fairytales. A bug has since bitten both: they believe in the power of their flimflam artistry. To pull the wool over the eyes of Guyanese. To plant them on a perfumed primrose path. To make them forget all their troubles and stresses. Being the narcissists they are, the president and his cast of extras believe that they have succeeded in producing a box-office blockbuster, with the head-of-state in the seat of director.
