DPI – The Ministry of Public Utilities and Aviation will soon move to issue a public notice directing all telecommunications and utility service providers to remove bundles of hanging wire from poles across the country within six weeks.

The directive came during the Model Village Initiative consultation held at Rose Hall in Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) on Saturday, where President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali highlighted leaning, clustered, and improperly aligned poles as a persistent hazard in communities slated for upgrades.

“It is very unsightly,” he stated to rounds of applause from residents attending the engagement.
