Twenty-eight-year-old Kemar Mitchell is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on July 17 to answer a murder charge in connection with the stabbing of 13-year-old Excelsior High School student Kemelia Paul.
Mitchell, a carpenter of Harbour Heights, Harbour View in St Andrew was formally charged with murder on Wednesday, one day after Kemelia died in hospital from injuries she sustained during an incident at her home on May 9.
According to the police, Mitchell went to the child's home on Everest Drive, Harbour View, where an argument developed between him and a relative of the child.
