More than 90% of the 8.4 million kilograms of poultry Barbadians consumed during the first six months of this year was produced locally.
That’s according to Chief Agricultural Officer, Paul Lucas.
Addressing a news conference to share the results of an examination of the local poultry sector, Mr Lucas also revealed there has been an overall reduction in poultry imports.
