(Kaieteur News) – Prime Minister, Mark Phillips, will represent Guyana at the 56th Meeting of Ministers of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), scheduled for 8th-9th October, 2026, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He will be accompanied by Dr. Mahender Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Energy Agency. The meeting, convened as part of the 11th Energy Week, which will bring together regional energy leaders, development partners and international organisations to discuss energy security, investment, technological innovation and cooperation across Latin America and the Caribbean, the Office of the Prime said in a release.
Prime Minister Phillips is expected to outline Guyana’s priorities for developing a diversified, affordable and reliable energy system in keeping with the Low Carbon Development Strategy 2030. These include the development of natural gas and renewable energy, electricity grid modernisation, battery storage, energy efficiency and electric mobility.
