The appointments of Independent senators by the President now stand at the centre of growing public distrust and must be examined closely, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said yesterday.
Persad-Bissessar yesterday hailed the passage of the Prime Minister’s Pension (Amendment) Bill, 2025, as a victory for the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
However, while she commended all senators who voted for the bill, she expressed concern over the conduct of certain Independent senators.
