TRINIDAD and Tobago will continue its engagement of Cuban healthcare professionals and has cleared all concerns raised by the United States government over possible human rights violations within the programme, Prime Minister Stuart Young said yesterday.
Young also quashed allegations by former health minister Dr Fuad Khan and others that the salaries of Cuban medics working in T&T were being sent to the Cuban government.
In defending the Government against the claims that the Cuban doctors and nurses were not being paid directly, he said this was not happening under the current administration.
