(Kaieteur News) – The Government of Guyana, through the Ministry of Housing, is preparing to utilise a US$100 million loan from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) to finance infrastructure development works at Wales, West Bank Demerara, Region Three; Moleson Creek, Corentyne; and Overwinning, East Bank Berbice, Region Six.
This is according to three recent invitations for bids (IFB) issued by the ministry. “The Government of Co-operative Republic of Guyana has received financing in the amount of 100 million USD from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) toward the cost of contracts to execute civil works for Saudi Fund For Development (SFD), Infrastructure Development Works For The Housing Sector Project,” the tender document stated.
At Wales, the infrastructure development works project is divided into seven lots. Construction works there will include construction of approximately 28.1 km of aggregate surface roads, earthen drains and RC culverts and bridges, the ministry informed.
