Following reignitions, fire officers returned on Friday to the Cipero Street, San Fernando site of the store which was destroyed by fire the previous day.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) of the Southern Division Mukharji Rampersad told the Express that there were reignitions, where materials under the destroyed galvanised roofing started to smoulder. “Those things are normal—little, small pockets of smouldering material that produce some smoke,” he explained. Rampersad said fire officers revisited the site and extinguished them.
It was on Thursday that a multi-million-dollar fire occurred at Product Central Trinidad Limited on Cipero Street, San Fernando. Rampersad estimated damages to be over $4 million, apart from the building.
