(Kaieteur News) – The Government of Guyana has been ordered to pay the outstanding subvention to the International Decade for People of African Descent Assembly–Guyana (IDPADA-G). The ruling was made by Chancellor (Ag) Roxane George-Wiltshire, who heard the case as Chief Justice.
The organisation in a statement, said the court ruled that government acted improperly in abruptly terminating funding to IDPADA-G. The judge ordered that the organisation be paid the subventions due for the remaining months of 2022.
Delivering her decision, the chief justice acknowledged the considerable delay in the issuance of the judgment and offered an apology to the parties.
