POLICE are investigating a break-in at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in San Fernando, where intruders damaged a window and tampered with the churchâs collection area, but left without stealing any money or valuables.
The break-in at the church on Harris Promenadeâmere footsteps away from the San Fernando Police Stationâwas discovered shortly before daybreak on Saturday. Investigators said entry was gained by breaking the glass of a window on the northern side of the church. The intruder or intruders then allegedly tampered with the collection area inside the church before leaving through a side entrance door, which was believed to have been opened from the inside of the church.
Crime scene investigators of the Southern Police Division processed the scene but were unable to recover any workable fingerprints.
