A 39-year-old fisherman was remanded in custody on Wednesday after appearing before a Master of the Court. Police charged him with wounding with intent, possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm to endanger life, possession of ammunition to endanger life, and discharging a firearm within 40 metres of a public road.
The court adjourned the matter to 5 September 2025.
According to police, on 7 November, the victim was attending to his boat along South Trunk Road, La Romain, when two men approached him. One of them, armed with a firearm, fired several shots, hitting the victim three times.
