Homicide detectives are investigating two separate shootings in Morvant on Saturday night, which left one man dead and another injured.
The first incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. in front of a shop along Chinapoo Road. The deceased, 22-year-old Hakeem Zion Neverson, a self-employed mechanic of Crichlow Trace, Chinapoo Village, and 23-year-old Cassius Mc Nicol, a car technician from Crow Trace, were seated outside the shop when a silver Lancer wagon, registration partially identified as PCL, drove past, turned, and returned, stopping near the men.
Several explosions were then heard. Neverson and Mc Nicol were both shot. Neverson was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer, while Mc Nicol was transported by residents to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.
