(Kaieteur News) – The state disposed of 49 matters during the Demerara June 2026 Criminal Assizes, including a large number of murder and other serious criminal cases, according to a report issued yesterday by the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The June Assizes opened on 2nd June with 137 cases listed for hearing before seven judges.
Of the 49 matters completed, 35 were presented before the High Court, including 21 murder cases, six attempted murder cases, two manslaughter cases and six sexual offences.
