JusÂtice Frank SeepÂerÂsad says the counÂtry canÂnot progress withÂout leadÂers who act with inÂtegriÂty and are preÂpared to make difÂfiÂcult deÂciÂsions for the comÂmon good. He deÂlivÂered the mesÂsage at the MIPÂSHA PresÂbyÂterÂian Church as it celÂeÂbratÂed its 152nd anÂniverÂsary.
He warned that many peoÂple in auÂthorÂiÂty purÂsue perÂsonÂal gain inÂstead of serÂvice, sayÂing, “SadÂly, for many leadÂers, it is all about self-agÂgranÂdizeÂment.” JusÂtice SeepÂerÂsad said efÂfecÂtive leadÂerÂship must align with God’s will and must be supÂportÂed by acÂtion, not empÂty words.
He told the conÂgreÂgaÂtion that godÂliÂness is cenÂtral to leadÂerÂship and refÂerÂenced scripÂture from 1 TimÂoÂthy 4:7-10. He said those who guide othÂers must first disÂciÂpline themÂselves in rightÂeousÂness, reÂmindÂing memÂbers that, “GodÂliÂness is benÂeÂfiÂcial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and alÂso for the life to come.”
