Parag tells TVET students to prepare for global jobs

(Kaieteur News) – Education Minister Sonia Parag on Tuesday urged Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students to recognise the value of practical skills, telling them that their training is positioning them to compete in an increasingly global workforce.

Parag made the remarks while delivering the featured address at the launch of the third annual TVET Fair and Exposition at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre. The event, being held from September 15 to 17 under the theme “From Classroom to Career: TVET in Action,” is among the activities marking Education Month.

Delivering the featured address, Minister Parag told a packed gathering of students, teachers, educational officials and stakeholders that Technical Education is not a lesser form of education; that it is rigorous, valuable, and essential in transforming lives, communities and country as a whole.
