Brazilian footballer Neymar has reportedly confirmed his retirement from Brazil’s national team after representing the country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“My time with the national team is over,” the 34-year-old was reported as saying by GOAL during a post-match interview. “I made history; I was very happy. I gave my blood, my life. I always fought for the yellow jersey, but now I don’t want to anymore.”
The Santos captain also took the opportunity to shut down reports that he had been bullying younger teammates. According to reports, Neymar mocked the technical quality of Gabriel Bontempo and Joao Ananias following a 2-2 draw with Chapecoense.
